(Reston, VA – October 2022): The boom in RV camping over the past two years has led to campgrounds across the country extending their season in an effort to keep up with demand. According to the KOA Monthly Camping Report, 47% of camping households have extended their camping season well into November.
While state and national parks remain the top destinations for fall camping, privately-owned campgrounds are gaining in interest as they expand their fall activities. Halloween is one of the most popular celebrations at campgrounds across the country, replacing neighborhood trick-or-treating with a family-friendly and safe experience at the campground. Families who have not made a reservation at a local campground are advised to call often for last-minute cancellations. And many campgrounds offer day passes for their Halloween activities as well.
Haunted trails, hayrides, costume contests, pumpkin decorating, corn mazes, and of course trick-or-treating are popular activities offered at local campgrounds through to October 30th.
With 20,000 RV campgrounds across the country, there is a campground experience for every lifestyle. Visitors can find one near them by going to www.gorving.com, then Find a Campground.
